Atsuo "Alex" Tsukada joined
Boyden as Associate in Tokyo in January 1980. He was appointed
Vice President in 1981 and Senior Vice President in 1983 of
the parent company, Boyden World Corp. which is an oldest
executive search firm in the world founded in New York in
1946. He was appointed President & Representative Director
in November 1989. In early 1990's, he served as Co-Regional
Director of Boyden's Asia Pacific Region, comprised of 12
offices.
Educated in China, Tsukada commenced his
professional career with the U. S. military forces in Japan as
Purser aboard Naval Ships and when he left in 1971 held the
most senior position of a Japanese national working with the
U. S. Forces Japan. He was directly responsible for all
personnel matters for over 2,000 nationals. From there he
became Personnel Manager for Coca-Cola Japan and in 1975
Personnel Manager for Nestle Japan, a company with over 2,000
employees.
Tsukada was the founding president of The
Personnel Managers Club which now is comprised of some 200 H.
R. Managers from multinational firms in
Japan.
Throughout his 26 years career in executive
search, Tsukada has been active in recruiting general
managers, marketing, scientific, financial, personnel and
other staff officers for many leading consumer and industrial
organizations as well as the financial services industry. He
has built up a solid reputation in the Japan market as the
very best Executive Search Consultant or "Mr. Headhunter",
having successfully placed approximately 720 managers of high
calibre during the 26 year period.
Several years ago,
he was selected by the Ministry of Labour, Government of
Japan, to testify before its Advisory Committee (reviewing
possible modifications to the Employment Security Law which
affect the executive search business) as the only
representative from among the multinational search firms in
Japan.
