Atsuo "Alex" Tsukada joined Boyden as Associate in Tokyo in January 1980. He was appointed Vice President in 1981 and Senior Vice President in 1983 of the parent company, Boyden World Corp. which is an oldest executive search firm in the world founded in New York in 1946. He was appointed President & Representative Director in November 1989. In early 1990's, he served as Co-Regional Director of Boyden's Asia Pacific Region, comprised of 12 offices.

Educated in China, Tsukada commenced his professional career with the U. S. military forces in Japan as Purser aboard Naval Ships and when he left in 1971 held the most senior position of a Japanese national working with the U. S. Forces Japan. He was directly responsible for all personnel matters for over 2,000 nationals. From there he became Personnel Manager for Coca-Cola Japan and in 1975 Personnel Manager for Nestle Japan, a company with over 2,000 employees.

Tsukada was the founding president of The Personnel Managers Club which now is comprised of some 200 H. R. Managers from multinational firms in Japan.

Throughout his 26 years career in executive search, Tsukada has been active in recruiting general managers, marketing, scientific, financial, personnel and other staff officers for many leading consumer and industrial organizations as well as the financial services industry. He has built up a solid reputation in the Japan market as the very best Executive Search Consultant or "Mr. Headhunter", having successfully placed approximately 720 managers of high calibre during the 26 year period.

Several years ago, he was selected by the Ministry of Labour, Government of Japan, to testify before its Advisory Committee (reviewing possible modifications to the Employment Security Law which affect the executive search business) as the only representative from among the multinational search firms in Japan.
